Sarah McCabe,
Programme Director

Sarah McCabe is a Toronto-born artist and educator now based in London, England. She is the Programme Director of Discovery Strings, the Programme Director of Pro Corda’s Create Together Adult SEND musical theatre programme, and the Head of Education and Curriculum Development for the WeJam Foundation.

Sarah is finishing a PhD at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, focusing on songwriting as a path to healing from trauma. Under the artist name Hendra, she set to release her debut album in 2026, generously supported by a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Sarah graduated with her MMUS in Viola Performance from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017, and her BMUS from Acadia University in 2014. She currently lives in London, in a house full of a rotating cast of artistic creatives. She has two unofficial cats named Gizmo and Fudge.

Poppy McGhee,
Head of Primary

Poppy McGhee is a violinist from Somerset, England. She is her third year at the Royal Academy of Music, studying violin with Jack Liebeck and viola with Jon Thorne. She plays regularly in Beares Chamber concerts, and is a frequent soloist with the Orchestra of St Johns, performing works such as the Lark Ascending and Sarasate Zigeunerweisen.

Poppy is a passionate string and early years music educator. She teaches a large studio of private violin students, and leads early years group classes at Questors Young Musicians. She is the founder of Vivace Violin holiday programme, and a tutor on the Junior Arpeggione summer course. Poppy is a Support Musician for Wigmore Halls Chamber Tots Sessions in the 25/26 season, a Benedetti Foundation Ambassador, and was selected to join the Emerging Music Leader scheme for Sound Connections early childhood music project.

Since a young age, Poppy has been passionate about community music, fundraising and volunteering with the Amber Trust to support blind and visually impaired young musicians. She teaches classroom SEN for Brent music service, and runs SEND workshops for WeJam Foundation.

Poppy loves to spend time with her guinea pigs, attend concerts, and explore new places.
